Great information, but it's definitely geared toward those who are already in pretty good shape, with advice like increase your running speed to 8 mph and take on as many hills as possible. That's sound advice, but only if you're already an avid fitness fanatic.

I'd agree with Dan as you must already be in a fitness/weight training schedule to use this article effectively. This article is an "enhance" article and points out some very good pitfalls. Realizing that you don't want to overwhelm someone who is just beginning a workout routine you do need to understand that an effective (losing weight) program must be more than a walk or a brief bit of cardio on a daily basis. If you want to burn fat during your exercise you must keep your heart rate at a certain level for a period of time so that fat can be accessed as a fuel. (I'm not saying you can not lose weight when you begin a workout/healthy diet. As most of us know after a certain period of time your weight lose will slow or stop after the initial "x" pounds and there are many reason for this. One of the ways we can continue to lose weight is to increase the workout routine as indicated in this article)

I get it! The net-calorie calculation is important to knowing what you can really count every day. Interesting and informative.
